Blackthorn Golf Club, a Dr. Michael Hudzan design, opened to rave reviews in August of 1994. The Irish-Cottage style clubhouse sets upon a rolling naturally contoured heavily wooded 226-acre site. The par 72, 7136-yard layout with four sets of tees offers a strategic test for golfers of all abilities. Broad fairways framed by 94 bunkers, wetlands, ponds, and native prairie grasses lead to subtly contoured and swept-up-tiered bentgrass greens.

Blackthorn Golf Club is a 19 hole layout. The first hole, the Blarney Hole is the ultimate mulligan.  The Blarney Hole is a short par four that plays over a blarney stone to a well-bunkered green. (Take aim at the Blarney Stone for chance at a complimentary logo ball by hitting it with your tee shot.)  

The practice facility consists of two acres of bentgrass tees, realistic target greens and a short game area for putting, chipping and bunker play.

McSorley's at Blackthorn serves an assortment of selections from the McSorley Burger to tasty Salads that can be washed down with a hearty McSorley Irish Lager.
